Photography Exhibition Showcases Talent From Iraq And Beyond
The French Institute in Erbil is hosting an exhibition of the work of photographers from across Iraq, as well as some images from foreigners who have worked in the country. The exhibition, organised in conjunction with agency Metrography, will run for three weeks.
Metrography managing director Ahmed Najm told Yalla, “Metrography was founded on 19 May 2010, so we organised the exhibition with the Institute. The photos are focussing on the different sides of Iraq, the beauty the outside media is not covering. For example photos of Sunni and Shia helping each other.
“One of our Shia photographers has published a story covering Sunni problems. It is important for Metrography to break down ethnic and religious barriers. Our photographers are Christian, Sunni, Shia, Arab, Kurd, Turkmen….we represent all communities in Iraq.”
The exhibition runs until 12 June.
