How To Get Pokemon Go On Your Android Or iPhone
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last twenty years, you’ll have heard of Pokemon, the Nintendo game that took the Game Boy generation by storm and spawned anime, merchandise and hundreds of imitators.
However, the franchise was stalling and Nintendo’s share price didn’t look much better until the company teamed up with software developer Niantic, the company behind the underground augmented reality mobile game Ingress. The resulting game, Pokemon Go has been a runaway hit since it was released earlier this month – in Australia and the US.
However, there are ways to get around the restrictions so that you can try to catch ‘em all wherever you are. Follow our simple instructions for Android and iPhone.
First you will need to allow downloads from unknown sources to your device. Got to Settings > Security and then check ‘Unknown sources’.
From here, you need to search Pokemon Go at www.apkmirror.com and download. Install the game as normal once the download is complete. WARNING! Downloading an APK can be a risk, as files are occasionally infected with malware or viruses, so do this only if you are happy with taking that risk. Yalla has been running the version from this website for a day and has experienced no problems.
This is slightly more complicated, as users will have to set up a US iTunes account. A basic knowledge of English is required.
Start by logging out of the App Store and changing your region to the US Settings > General > Language & Region > Region. Go to the Pokemon Go page and install the app.
You will now be prompted to created a US iTunes account. Select ‘None’ for billing information, confirm your email address and return to the Pokemon Go page and install. Simply reset your information after you’ve got your game.
Yalla will post a review in a few days, but in the meantime, are you playing Pokemon Go? What do you think so far?
