70 Tents Destroyed In Fire At IDP Camp Near Kirkuk
The UNHCR has announced the immediate distribution of core relief item (CRI) packages to families affected by a fire on Monday at the Yahayawa IDP camp near Kirkuk.
UNHCR spokeswoman in Baghdad, Caroline Gluck, said in an email,
“We will respond with tents and CRIs without delay; the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian affairs is coordinating with other clusters to provide any other assistance needed.”
No one was injured in the blaze which destroyed at least 70 tents. Many of the 500 families in the camp are from western and southern parts of Kirkuk province.
